It's a start!

I'm at the financial state where, although I can theoretically remain without income indefinitely (moochy moochy), I have no spending money whatsoever. Still looking for long-term employment, of course, but in the meantime I'll take what I can get. So I was rather pleased to learn that Mom's boss, Dr. Vu, needed some help to get his office refurbished. He'd just purchased some furniture and didn't have time to get it assembled over the weekend, so Mom mentions that I'm good at handling such things and recommends me. When she passes the news along, I thought at first it would be on a volunteer basis (which oddly enough I was fine with), but then Dr. Vu asks me if $20 an hour sounds fair. ...Oh sure, that's just fine. (Yes yes yes!)
Spent four hours and forty minutes putting together two tables, three chairs, and a desk (most of it on the desk, which didn't have the clearest instructions in the world). Dr. Vu not only rounded that up to five but then gave me an extra twenty as a bonus, which I wasn't about to complain over. That and it was nice just to feel productive again; I didn't even notice time passing until I was nearly done. So, anyway, here's to extremely temp jobs.
