For those who have noticed my recent absence over the net during normal business hours, I'd just like to say that it's not my fault... in some way that I haven't determined yet. Well, the illness over the weekend wasn't really my fault, anyway, and that had me sleeping in repeatedly. But the last couple days have been more due to my procrastination habits, which also decided to kick in during the weekend (as they tend to do) and left me with one too mmany unfinished assigments to get done. Hence, much busy-ness yesterday. I'm temporarily back on track, but since there's a bit of a field trip this weekend (a visit to a nearby temple), I expect to be rushing again come next Monday. Fun! >_<
On a side note, I think the stress, illness, and/or sleep oddities finally caught up to me yesterday in Metalworking. We've been making silver spoons; I had just finished heating mine up in preparation to give it the latest pounding... and in a moment of brain failure I tried to pick it by the handle. Sans tongs. I think my logic at the time was "Hey! I focused the blowtorch purely on the bowl this time, so the handle should be safe!" Safe as in I didn't actually fry off any skin layers, sure, but I still had to make a mad dash to the bathroom and thank God that the winter weather meant nice, cold water in the sink pipes. A fast-applied minute of running water kept my thumb and index finger from blistering (thank you, BSA first aid course!) but there's still a burn mark in the shape of my spoon handle on both. Hopefully I haven't branded myself.
