Name any fandom I'm probably aware of and I will tell you:
1. The first character I fell in love with.
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now.
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates.
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer.
6. The character I would shag anytime.
7. The character I'd want to be like.
8. The character I'd slap. (Or punch. Or maim.)
9. A pairing that I love.
10. A pairing that I despise.

3. Inara has failed to grow on me. I guess it's just the snobbery factor, or maybe that she's so closed off.
4. I hear Book doesn't get much love, but I'll make up for it, because I like when Christians are portrayed as neither flawless nor corrupt.
5. I preferred River before the movie. I still don't hate her, per se, but I sense her turning into someone flawless, able to do anything, and that kind of character just isn't interesting. Let her keep just a little bit of that lunacy and she'll keep my attention.
6. Mmm.... Kaylee... what were we talking about?
7. Wash, I think. Largely carefree, friendly, likeable, smart, talented... and has a really hot wife. Kaylee gets second place for the same reasons but she lacks the hot wife so...
8. Can I go off-ship for this? Niska needs a good thrashing...
9. Kaylee/Simon. Two great tastes that taste great together! (...that didn't sound right.)
10. Jayne/River. Just because they're both available does not make it a good idea!

Date: 2006-11-04 02:59 am (UTC)And I imagine that part of the reason that the Firefly fandom doesn't like him is because he's not "hot." A lot of people don't seem to like Inara either, though, so I don't know what that's about. Fandom: I'll never get you and I don't think I want to.
And speaking of Whedon, I just finished watching "The Wish" and "Amends" from BtVS Season 3. Damn you, Whedon! That first one ruined my almost-crying streak and went straight to tears! [/sap]

Date: 2006-11-03 08:37 pm (UTC)2. Chiyo looked too Mary-Sue-ish a concept at first, but her adorable nature was well played... how could I hate her?
3. Does Tomo have a large following? She gets on my nerves. Yukari-sensei too, although she has her moments.
4. Kagura: late-comer but a beacon of relative sanity just to balance things out nicely.
5. Tomo was fun at first but she got progressively more obnoxious throughout the series (or maybe her standard level just got old fast).
6. ...Sakaki.
7. Sakaki. Gentle-minded, smart but not overly so, athletic, protective and loyal.
8. Shut the hell up, Tomo.
9. Given that the only named male in the entire series is Kimura, yuri seems the way to go here. I'll go with the obvious: Sakaki/Kaorin, just because it's the closest to canon and Kaorin such a fun dork.
10. Whoever tried to insert something sexual into Sakaki/Chiyo needs a good psych exam.

Date: 2006-11-03 09:11 pm (UTC)2. It's a toss-up between Lee and Shikamaru. Lee seemed a total gimmick, but he kicked so much ass against Gaara that he's racked up enough Awesome Points to last him a lifetime. Shikamaru, on the other hand, just blended into the background until we finally got to see his amazing brain in action... and then he totally won me the rest of the way over by, of all things, quitting.
3. STOP ANGSTING, SASUKE!
4. Hard one, if only because I'm sure pretty much every character has some sort of following. I guess, of my favorites, Lee would probably be the most disliked by the fandom as a whole...
5. My opinion of Sasuke started off neutral leaning negative, since he looked like a brooding angst-monkey. Then it slowly improved over time as he did various cool things... but then he had to confirm my initial opinion of him and run off. I wanted to like you, Sasuke, I really did, but you had to prove yourself a total bastard after all.
6. The girls on the show leave something to be desired in general. I guess Temari, if I were pushed to choose (she's at least got some attitude), but none of them really attract me.
7. Kakashi wins again. Unless it means I have to deal with Gai regularly.
8. Sakura, stop mooning over Sasuke and actually do something. Anyone else in the whole damn series could kick your ass. You'd better learn something useful from Tsunade or you officially get my "least favorite character" label.
9. Naruto/Hinata. I'm a sucker for the silent-love-from-afar.
10. Sakura/anyone-but-Lee. Sasuke's a jerk and Naruto, as mentioned, I'd rather see hook up with Hinata. (Lee, on the other hand, is available and has many Awesome Points to cash in.)

Date: 2006-11-04 07:35 am (UTC)I wasn't going to let Sakura get out of this one without a firm kick in the butt. So much potential and yet she never actually does anything. I want her to succeed, prove that brains and control can win over raw power, but when freakin' Naruto's coming up with all the clever plans while she sits around and whimpers... Pull yourself together! You're a ninja! There's no crying in ninja!
And as for her training with Tsunade... It pays off.
Yay! Now if we can just get her to stop obsessing over Emo-kid...
Sue me. I was in boot camp when you posted this.

Date: 2007-02-28 01:35 am (UTC)1. Probably Hermione. Geek pride and all that.
2. Neville, dude. Seemed like a total loser in the first couple books, then he became teh awesome in Order of the Phoenix.
3. I never got the appeal of Draco. At all. He's a total wannabe villain with lame idea after lame idea... actually, he's the perfect nemesis for Harry.
4. I don't think there's a lot of Neville love out there, but I think he rocks the house. See question 2.
5. As the series wore on my patience with Harry wore out. He never actually seems to do anything in the end; he just has stuff done TO him. And yells about it.
6. You're going to make me answer this, aren't you? Gah, too much with the jailbait. AFTER they've all reached 18, probably Luna or Hermione.
7. Going to the teachers for this one: Lupin. Strong, noble, smart, loyal.
8. Stop. With the. Capslock. Harry.
9. Neville/Luna. I know they're the leftover pairing, but I love both characters.
10. Anything teacher/student. I should not have to explain why.
