001. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
002. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
003. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
004. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
005. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1) Since I like musical diversity but don't have any exposure to contemporary Christian bands: are there any that you recommend to me?
Newsboys: Good, slightly quirky Aussie rock group. Favorite songs: "Entertaining Angels", "Reality", "Beautiful Sound", "Shine"
Avalon: Great dual-gender harmonies with some real oomph. Favorite songs: "Speed of Light", "Adonai", "Reason Enough", "Can't Live A Day"
Sonicflood: Power rock that gets used for worship music by a lot of churches. Favorite songs: "My Refuge", "Carried Away", "I Need You", "Holy One"
Michael W. Smith: Gentle rock, likes background choruses. Favorite songs: "Secret Ambition", "This is Your Time", "Give It Away", "Kentucky Rose"
Steven Curtis Chapman: Acoustic guitar rock, usually fast-paced. Favorite songs: "See The Glory", "Dive", "For The Sake of the Call", "Magnificent Obsession"
2) Favorite Miyazaki film protagonist?
Hmm, probably Shizuku from Whisper of the Heart, for a couple reasons: she's a writer trying to juggle her creative energies with real life, and the world of her film doesn't contain anything that couldn't exist in reality (which in turn makes me believe she could really exist somewhere). Both of these factors help me identify closely with her.
3) Typical geeky question. If you were a Final Fantasy character, what would your class be?
Hmm... probably Time Mage or White Mage. Intelligent, helpful, but not a front liner.
4) Did you get along with your brothers while you grew up?
From about age 5 to 10, JW and I would gang up on Andrew just to be annoying. Nothing serious, but there was a lot of teasing. (Now that he can kill me five ways with his bare hands, I suppose it's good he doesn't hold a grudge.) Later on we got along better, especially after we moved and temporarily knew no one in the area but each other, and we generally played games and the like together.
5) What is your favoritest food ever?
Mom makes this great dish called Chinese Chicken Morsels. Little bits of chicken broiled in this marinade of soy sauce, dijon mustard, and some other stuff I can't remember. Delicious, especially with rice. If I'm visiting for more than a couple days Mom always makes sure to make a batch.
