Those who want to know why, visit his journal and look at his main icon (which he's been using all over the place), UNLESS YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED HARRY POTTER 6, in which case I suggest you ban him immediately and pre-emptively (the command is "ban_set lafinjack") and insist that all your friends do the same. Actually, do that whether you've read the book or not; jackasses like that deserve to be ignored.

And don't tell me whether his spoiler is accurate or just a (very sick) joke, please. As long as I can believe it could be either way, I can avoid hunting him down and killing him in his sleep.

(Someone once "spoiled" Final Fantasy 8 for me with something that turned out to be totally inaccurate, so I can't rule out anything and am very glad of that fact.)

Heheh, yeah, I remember in the old RPGamer MB days, someone came to the Xenogears board shortly after the game came out and posted "ELLY DIES!" as a subject to a post.

I was warned "Don't look at the board, there's a huge spoiler!"

Then after I beat the game, I went "Which huge spoiler was it that was posted?" and found out. XD

I've seen some hilarious "spoilers" written by people I trusted not to spoil it for me. Stuff that I knew couldn't possibly be right, so I just laughed along with them.

I'm not going to even give you any hints, except that I'm about 100 pages from being done and it's driving me INSANE because I want to know if my suspicions are correct. I want to be wrong. With every fiber of my being, I want to be wrong, but... GRAH! *eyes book sitting on the desk* But no, gotta get all this stupid work done. *sighs impatiently*

I have my own suspicions as well. But my main concern is who Harry hooks up with (I'm hoping Luna ... seriously).

Oh, and there are evidently other spoilers in his "explanation post", which I didn't fully absorb because a) I stopped looking as soon as I realized he'd switched from "self-righteous justification" mode to "screw my angry readers some more" mode, and b) they were written with rather bad grammar and in all caps.

I'm hoping to get my hands on the book tonight, after which I'll double check his site to see what is accurate. And no, I won't tell you until you want me too.

Someone did the exact same thing on 50bookchallenge. Blatant icon uncoolness. I think their post has been removed now, though.

It's really annoying when people do that. They have no respect. They probably think they're being funny, but really, they're just being great big jerks.

Last thing I had spoiled for me was Resident Evil Code Veronica on Dreamcast. Someone went to the Code Veronica board on GameFaqs the night before it came out and posted a bunch of topics in a row with all spoilers in the subjects. I've since learned to avoid the internets when there's something I really don't want spoiled because of jerks like that.
