That smarts!

We haven't had TV since Tuesday when the antennae blew over. (No, we don't have cable.) Dad finally went out and bought some replacement braces today, but didn't have time to actually put them up. So I figured it was up to me. The fact that it was supposedly a two-man job did not deter me. The height of the roof, that deterred me, but I sucked it up and climbed up anyway. Naturally, it started raining when I was about halfway done, but I didn't feel like leaving the job incomplete, so I kept at it.
Then I found the flaw in the instructions. See, there's two braces, and the instructions tell you to set the top one first. That means that when you set the second one, you're crouched directly UNDER the first (solid steel) brace. The inevitable happened: at some point during the wrestling of the sheet metal straps into place, I raised my head too far and clocked myself. Twice.
Thankfully, all damage was superficial, but I've got a huge bandage on my forehead until further notice. -_-
