Standby, Japanese text ahead.
Finally got caught up on Get Backers. Well, up to 43, anyway. I know the start of a massive story arc when I see one, and I think I'll hold off on watching 44 and 45 until I've got the entire story on my hard drive.
At one point I started translating the names for the hell of it. It's harder than it sounds, even armed with a kanji dictionary -- a lot of the kanji still used in names are otherwise obsolete and have no meaning in modern Japanese -- but here's what I could decipher ( with (!) next to any especially appropriate ones):
Midou = 実堂 = beautiful temple; Ban = 蛮 = ?? (couldn't find the meaning anywhere)
Amano = 天野 = heavenly field; Ginji = 銀次 = after the silver
Fuyuki = 冬木 = winter tree; Shido = 士度 = period of knighthood
Fuuchouin = 風鳥院 = house/hall of birds in the wind; Kazuki = 花月 = flower moon
Akabane = 赤屍 = red corpse(!); Kuroudo = 蔵人 = warehouse man
Haruki = 春樹 = maker of spring; Emishi = 笑師 = teacher of laughter(!)
Kakei = 筧 = water pipe; Juubei = 十兵衛 = protection of ten soldiers
Mizuki = 水城 = water castle; Natsumi = 夏実 = fruit of summer
Otowa = 音羽 = wings of sound(!); Madoka = マドカ = (in katakana, ergo no meaning)
Kagami = 鏡 = mirror(!); Kyouji = 形而 = ?? (first one means "appearance")
Fudou = 不動 = unmoving; Takuma = 琢磨 = polished/refined
And Kudou Himiko is 工藤卑弥呼 but I wasn't able to work out a translation (that made sense, anyway) for either word.

Incidentally, my roommate opted to download the Junkies versions and said that their translations were quite accurate, moreso than Anime Empire even. (Well, except for the "Cid" business.)
