Finally defeated the Tales of the Sword Coast missions for Baldur's Gate.

Aec'Letec is a NIGHTMARE. 140 HP, resistance to just about everything, and has this nasty Death Sentence-like spell that it loves using (in a game where you can't just drop a Phoenix Down on them). Oh, and if you don't slay all the cult toadies first it respawns through them a la Matrix Agents. I had to reload 30+ times, easily, before I slew it without having half my team demolished.

Hope the final boss isn't that tough.

Yes, he took me forever also. Final boss took more than a few reloads also, but wasn't anywhere near as bad as him, heh.

Plus with the final boss, you don't mind losing a couple troops.

I feel a bit dumb now. I never thought about the fact that whoever dies in 1 will still be there regardless in 2, even if you use the End of Game save it makes after you beat it. D'oh. :|

Actually, I smashed him Thursday morning, and got everyone out alive. Which was pretty good considering that on my first six or seven tries, I got massacred. (I finally thought to fire off a Dispel Magic before they saw me; suddenly Semaj is sitting there in nothing but his jammies, and I could take him out before he could get off another spell. He had been the big nuisance, really, with his confusion spells...)
