I got invited to a church concert last night. Fact: a choir singing Latin sounds the same whether the singers are American or Japanese. Couldn't detect a bit of an accent on any of them; they even got words like "excelsis" right, which I had expected to give them trouble. Then they closed with an English hymn, and presto! Accent is back! *shrugs* (The thees, thys, and thous probably didn't help... Japanese doesn't have a "th" sound.) Got taken to dinner afterwards by the people who invited me, which was nice. (Especially since one of them was pretty hot. Requirement met, Rob! :p)
