Going postal.

I got an insufficient postage letter back in my mailbox, and had to use my last two 1-cent stamps to get it out and in the mail again. Didn't even realize they'd hiked the rates again; shows how often I snail-mail stuff. But to my annoyance, the vending machine at the post office doesn't carry either 1 or 2 cent stamps. The new 39-cent stamps, yes. They also still carry the 37-cent stamps, mind you, complete with a warning that oh yeah these will be obsolete as of two months ago, and you'd better get some 2-cent stamps to go with them. The 2-cent stamps we aren't selling; ha ha ha. Great. I'm never free to go to the post office when the counters are open, so I wound up buying a pack of 39s. All the 37s in the drawer back home? Benched until further notice. Not like I got ripped off for more than ten bucks, but it's the principle of the thing, you know?
