They must REALLY love the guy...
Aug. 7th, 2005 09:16 pmI was watching ABC when my show was interrupted by a Special Report, informing me that Peter Jennings had succumbed to his cancer. Sorry to hear that.
The anchor went on to give a minute-long spiel about Jennings. Okay, you appreciate him. Great. But let's get back to my program.
Then started the montage of Jennings' career highlights...
They were still going strong when I shut it off fifteen minutes after they started. Yeesh, guys, all you had to do was say, Jennings died of lung cancer, age X, ABC reporter for X years, survived by X and X, will be missed, more at 11. I can't remember a recent death (that includes Reagan and the Pope) where any station felt the need to deliver the entire eulogy on the spot.
