Eh, I need to update this more often. But some brief highlights from the past week (assuming you care):
My ex-boss dragged me back in for two days last week at my successfully renegotiated rates: $200 a day. Woohoo. For that much pay (and that little time with him), I'll put up with his business habits.
Up to Episode 59 and climbing on Naruto. Uh, they DO eventually finish the Chuunin testing, right? :P But I have determined that Lee rocks (no pun intended), save maybe when he's doing his Saiya-jin impression, which I find a bit dorky. Also cool to watch is the Hyuuga fighting technique. And the third ending song is really catchy.
Friend of mine had her birthday Wednesday... well, okay, I wouldn't exactly call her a friend as much as an acquaintance, but a lot of her friends are my friends, so I considered it a chance to hang out with all of them and went. As it was her 21st birthday, naturally we had to take her out drinking. This turned out to be cheaper than we originally expected; announce that it is someone's 21st birthday in a bar/pub/club -- especially if they're female -- and people will start shoving booze into her hands on anyone's tab but hers. She also got hit on a lot, including by the lead singer of the band who was playing at the small club we spent most of the night at. (It was partially my job as one of the few guys in the group to ensure they didn't do much more than that to her drunken self, and thankfully I never had to break anything up.) Ironically, the other girl to get hit on the most was the one who was most definitely taken. Granted, it isn't obvious from looking at her that she's two months pregnant (the most notable effect of which was that she was *cough* more endowed than usual, which probably encouraged them), but I don't know how they missed the rock on her finger. Anyway, we all had at least one drink (save for the one with the bun in the oven, who was designated driver by default), including the one who organized it all: our bible study leader. ^^; The birthday girl had at least six, but managed to walk out almost under her own power, and didn't have any hangover or memory lapse the next day.
