Patience is a virtue.
Apr. 10th, 2004 10:09 pmUsed to be in drama in high school. I heard good ol' Westmont High was doing its latest musical this weekend, and since I finally have some cash to throw around, I thought I'd catch a show. Being me, I managed to put off going until the last day (today)...
I'd forgotten how popular these productions are. I get there and they're sold out with a 29-person-long waiting list. (This was 45 minutes before the show started.) >_< But hey, I'm the guy who outwaited twenty other students to get into my last required class and graduate on schedule. So I sign up as waiter #30 and sit down for the long haul.
At least fifteen of those thirty gave up and went home before they even started calling cancelations. Nonetheless, they ran out of absent will-calls to hand out quickly. Everyone got seated, and most of us rejects dispersed. I stuck around a little longer.
Just before the doors closed, the director came out with a head-count. Somehow, four seats hadn't been filled.
:D
(Oh yeah, the show was Once Upon This Island, which was about love and sacrifice rejected by its intended recipient. But it all turns out okay.
Tomorrow, same theme.)
