I'm so weak...
Oct. 8th, 2003 11:21 pmMom was going to Fry's Electronics to pick up a label-maker for the office, and I decided to tag along, just to lust at all the things I could not afford. So I passed up Homeworld 2, and Warcraft: Frozen Throne, and a Baldur's Gate II/Throne of Bhaal pack for $20 (tempting, but I can always borrow that from at least two sources)... And then I saw it. The entire Myst Trilogy for that same $20. Out came my wallet before I knew what hit me. I was ever-so-slightly disappointed upon opening it -- I had thought it included RealMyst, but it's just got the standard version -- but still! Well worth it! (But I've never been more glad for free room and board here...)
In other news, the Naval Academy football team beat Air Force. The latter was nationally ranked, which makes it all the cooler. Now, I need to explain something about how USNA celebrates after some big event like this. There's this statue of Chief Tecumseh on the campus ("yard", whatever), which they will paint in some creative manner and leave it that way for a few days. (This is not meant to be disrespectful to Tecumseh or the Native American tribes in general; remember this is the same organization that annually takes one of the local war memorials, coats it in a ton of lard, and makes the freshmen climb it.)
