I'm not as think as you drunk I am!
Sep. 30th, 2002 10:58 amMy host family invited me out to a barbecue with a bunch of their friends last night. Who, as usual, offered me beer, which I'm not that fond of, but I drank a can just to be polite. (Japanese seems designed to make it easier to accept an offer than refuse.) Then when I got back about 10pm, Nathan's host sister had invited over a few friends for some drinking and talking, and with that much Japanese femininity in one room, how could I refuse? ^^;
So end result was that I was a little buzzed by the time I went back to my apartment at 1am. Never been buzzed before (I've never found an alcohol type I enjoy, that I can afford large amounts of, anyway). Interesting experience. I was laughing hysterically at things that were only slightly funny. Also got more talkative than I usually am. I don't think I was completely drunk, though, for a few reasons:
1) I still remember last night pretty clearly.
2) I didn't so much as get nauseous, much less throw up.
3) I don't have a hangover.
And I'm very grateful for the latter two!
On a completely unrelated note, yes Will, I'm coming to Empire. And for the record, you're allowed to respond to these messages, and I'll get emailed said replies automatically. (Plus, for reasons like the above post, I'd prefer you not publicizing the existence of this journal to, say, Mom and Dad... :p) And due to the AOL difficulties, I can get email from you, but not send TO you... weird.
