Indeed, I read that earlier, and that is awesome. In the literal sense, not just the "Cowabunga, d00d!" TMNT sense.

But yes, she did get incredibally lucky. Sounds like she was able to say what needed to be said to win his trust and get word to the police.
PS. Since I know you're as into this stuff as I am, have you read the Fables graphic novel series? It's freakin' awesome. I highly recommend it.
