Canada is an awesome utopia, I've been there! Except for Toronto. Toronto is dirty and bleak. :P
While the whole bit about people crying about Bush not winning in 2000 annoys me as well as you, I feel the reason people (along with some disillusioned people who still feel like crying about 2000) are coming out in force is because of the executive, congress, and judicial branches are all about to be about as far right as it gets.
