...good service.

I don't even remember the chorus we were singing at the time. It might have been a hymn, in fact. I'm pretty sure that wasn't what caused it anyway.

It started with Anna, I guess. I suppose it could have hit someone else first, but Anna's the type to let you know it. She'll raise her hands skyward on the slightest provocation. But this time, without a request from the worship leader, she stood up and gave a hearty "hallelujah!" We're not a church that traditionally does such things.

Then a second person raised his hands in response. It's about then that I noticed it myself... there was this... rush... it was like my soul was bouyant. I didn't raise my hands or stand -- I'm not the type to do that -- but I felt it nonetheless. By the time it had passed, at least six people had been visibly moved, and who-knows-how-many others had been silently affected like me.

I don't know how else to describe it... It was like being in the presence of someone I had fallen head-over-heels in love with.

Which I believe we all were.

:D

That makes me happy.

I love that.

That is why I believe in God, despite being a logical, cynical person by nature. And the frustrating thing is, you can tell that to people when they ask for reasons, but they just can't understand it because they've never experienced it.

Ditto.

Indeed. =)

Hm.

That sounds like a wonderful feeling. I think maybe if I had actually felt that connection during my brief religious stint as a young lad, I would probably still be religious today.
