Politics is never black and white, and neither side is on the side of the angels. I'm a moderate, but in terms of my political philosophy, I'm closer to a Republican than a Democrat. I'm a registered Democrat though, because I can't stand the current Repiblican leadership. The current Democratic leadership may be ineffectual, but it's certainly not as corrupt (as far as I know). I do, however, have faith in the integrity of certain statemen, and I still believe there are Americans who become civil servants to serve the people, not themselves. I may still be a little too naive. In any case, I vote for conservative Democrats or liberal Republicans depending on who I trust to do what's best for my town, state, or country. I do wind up voting for more Democrats than Republicans, becuase I'd rather reign in the spending of someone with a soft heart for the little guy than trust the economy to someone in favor of tax cuts for the richest 1%. The Dems may spend more of my money than I like, but the Republicans are trying to shift the tax burden onto middle class taxpayers such as myself.
To bring my long-winded response to a close, welcome to the grey middle ground of politics, my brother. This is where the truly sane reside.
