I'm back on the air!
Naturally, I had to be on the Madcow server, which meant I got an extra 24 hours of downtime... that was annoying, to say the least. But I'm caught up on all your happenings, and now I can get back to reporting on my exciting life!

1. Pick one dozen movies that are ones that you have special feelings about.
2. Pick a few lines of dialogue that mean something to you.
3. As people guess the film, strike out that entry.
4. If possible, after the film is guessed, explain why that movie made the list.
1)"Sometimes I guess there's just not enough rocks." (Forrest Gump;

2)"I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope." (The Shawshank Redemption;
thunderphoenix)
3)"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for." (Dead Poets Society;
imaginari)
4)"You make me want to be a better man." (As Good As It Gets;
thunderphoenix)
5)"Now... where was I?" (Memento;

6)"Nonsense. You're only saying that because no one ever has." (The Princess Bride;
thunderphoenix)
7)"It is a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing. Such a little thing." (The Fellowship of the Ring;
thunderphoenix)
8)"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented." (The Truman Show;
thunderphoenix)
9)"She steals your name. If you forget it, you'll never find your way home." (Spirited Away;
bugen)
10)"You never forget kids like Emily or Andy, but they forget you." (Toy Story 2;
imaginari)
11)"Sooner or later you're going to realize, just as I did, that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." (The Matrix;
thunderphoenix)
12)"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." (The Usual Suspects;

5) The most brilliant script ever. While deftly handling an unconventional presentation, it slips you hint after hint about what's really going on while never actually giving away the final stunner until the end.
10) Yeah, The Incredibles was good stuff. So was Finding Nemo, for that matter. But Toy Story 2 remains my favorite Pixar movie. And probably my favorite sequel, period, building everything we learned in an already great movie and coming up with an even better concept for a new plot.
12) Did I mention I like caper films? I guess this counts as one. Tension was great, excellent last minute surprised that doesn't seem forced at all, and incredible acting by Kevin Spacey.
