Hmm... I dunno.
If all else fails, I suppose shrinking them will sharpen the image... ;p
(or even play around with the "Sharpen Image" tool in Photoshop, if you have it. You can go to Edit and fade it if it's too sharp.)
But as to how to get them to come out as they should, I really dont know.
